Classical Cities & Grand Tour City Break

Paris

Paris is one of Europe's most fantastic cities, a place that has everything for the traveller or visitor. Whether you visit Paris on a day trip, Paris in the Spring, Paris for a week or for far longer, this is a city that has it all! Museums, theatres, shops, fantastic historic monuments, a beautiful riverscape, Paris has all of these.

Paris offers the largest concentration of tourist attractions in France, and possibly in Europe. Besides some of the world's most famous museums, it has a vibrant historic city centre, a beautiful riverscape, an extensive range of historic monuments, including cathedrals, chapels and palaces, plus one of the most famous nightlife scenes in the world.

Paris is also famous for its cafés and restaurants, its theatres and cinemas, and its general ambiance.

Venice

Venice is one of the great Italian cities to visit and if you are a culture vulture, you will find it is packed full of wonderful sights to see and museums to explore.

In fact, Venice is an excellent destination to choose if you enjoy art, as you will be able to spend many happy days admiring its stunning architecture - which is a form of art in itself - and strolling around its many galleries.

Stroll around and through the narrow alleys of the Venice. Are you an unrestrainable shopper? Discover and appreciate the most traditional craftsmen's workshops in Venice. And how about delighting with the deliciousness of the local cuisine and tasting the excellent local wines?

Would you like something relaxing, and be taken around on a boat in the utmost comfort? Enjoy a tour of the Grand Canal and the smaller canals of Venice, or explore the appealing beauty of the Venetian Lagoon.

Florence

Florence is one of the most popular travel cities in Italy and holds many attractions for the tourist. Florence, a Renaissance city in the heart of Tuscany, has some of Italy's best museums, beautiful cathedrals and churches, and interesting streets and squares with elegant buildings and shops.

Florence's most famous square is Piazza della Signoria, the heart of the historic center and a free open-air sculpture exhibit. Florence's most popular site is its Duomo (cathedral), the Cattedrale de Santa Maria del Fiore. The huge Gothic duomo was begun in 1296, consecrated in 1436, and holds 20,000 people. Its exterior, made of green, pink, and white marble, has several elaborate doors and interesting statues. Inside, Brunelleschi's Dome is a masterpiece of construction.

Florence has several significant squares that are worth a visit. Walking around a piazza is free and many of Florence's squares are like outdoor museums with beautiful works of art. Here are seven squares not to miss in Florence.

Florence has some of the finest shopping in Europe. In Florence you'll find leather goods, paper goods, and jewellry as well as nice souvenirs and art productions. Florence has a number of open air markets selling food, clothing, and antiques. The most famous is around Piazza San Lorenzo where you'll find leather goods, too. Another good place is Mercato Nuovo (Porcellino) on Via Porta Rossa. Mercato Centrale is a great place for food shopping or just looking.

Rome

Rome wasn’t built in a day and shouldn’t be visited in a day either. Barring that, lace up your walking shoes and spend your time focusing on the main sites between Palatine Hill and the Spanish Steps. Start off with a bang by visiting the Roman Colosseum and marvel at Rome’s greatest architectural wonder.

After the Colosseum, wander up Palatine Hill, the birthplace of Rome, for a panoramic view of the Roman Forum and central Rome. Next, explore the Roman Forum yourself and make your way on to nearby Capitoline Hill. Here you will find the glorious Piazza del Campidoglio designed by Michelangelo and the Capitoline Museums. But save those for later. For now just enjoy the view and wait for your stomach to rumble. You can find quick eats in the neighborhoods behind Capitoline Hill around the Piazza Venezia

After lunch, ogle at the immense, wedding cake-like Monument to Victor Emmanuel II as you make your way up the Via del Corso. Along the Corso, detour down the well-trod side streets to the Pantheon at Piazza de la Rotonda, and then double back to reach the world famous Trevi Fountain. After you’ve tossed a coin in the fountain and had an ice cream, the streets beyond the Fountain contain Rome’s most chic shopping spots leading all the way up to the Spanish Steps.

  • Why not extend your holiday with a stay in Athens from ONLY £185 - it's a must to complete your GRAND TOUR
  • Athens

Today Athens, with its five million inhabitants, has all characteristics of a modern metropolis but it has kept its very unique ancient atmosphere, an atmosphere that reflects in the Athenians and their way of living. Athens follows the changes of the 21th century and it has made its rhythm faster but it has always made certain that the memories of its valuable past are kept.

First time visitors to Athens are torn between the remnants of the old and those of the new world, between the gods and the shops of Plaka, between the ancient art and the green covered terraces. Returning visitors enjoy all of both worlds, as do the Athenians themselves. Athens has a lot to offer and even more to enjoy.

Say "Athens" and people will say "The Acropolis".

Yes, of course, you should not leave Athens without having visited the Acropolis with its splendid Parthenon, Erechteion, Temple of Athena etc. However, Athens has much more to offer. The Ancient and the Roman Agora, Plaka, the romantic Anafiotika area, the Panathenaic Stadium, Lykavittos and Philopappou Hill, the tens of museums, Psirri, Syntagma, Monastiraki etc. There is a lot to see in Athens and it is worth while seeing it. With every corner you turn, Athens will surprise you with its history and its special atmosphere.

There are so many different options available for any particular holiday that provide opportunitie for a more cost effective price or upgrades with certain hotels that you might miss out on a better deal.

We strongly believe that a real person is better able to make intuitive decisions about a holiday enquiry than a computer programme that will not have the same dedication or commitment to providing the best possible service.

ALSO, why should you waste your time searching for a great deal when we can do it for you - with a personal touch. Rest assured, you will always be dealing with a real live person and you will have direct contact with the same person all the time. You will never have to deal with an anonymous person in a call centre.

It is our absolute, number one, priority to ensure that you are happy with the details of your holiday before you book and it is important that you have the time to do this.

It is also important to remember, however, that prices change all the time (particularly the cost of flights) and it is with this in mind, that we would urge you to try and confirm the booking as soon as possible. We will provide a quote according to your enquiry for the best prices on the day. Communication is the key to getting the best deal and we will work to ensure that we respond to your requests as quickly as possible to guarantee the best prices for you.

Simply drop us a line and we will look for alternative options that better meet what you are looking for

It is impossible for us to send you a quote for every possible hotel option so we usually provide a choice of two or three different hotels in each quote. We are always happy to provide you with other choices and the more information you can give us will help us in finding that sought after hotel that is "Just Right".

    Payments

We have several very simple and straightforward methods available for receiving payment.
